NETHERLANDS ANTILLES ---> On 23
September the ARRL Awards Committee issued the
following statement on the dissolution of the
Netherlands Antilles:
"To clarify the administrative process by which the
anticipated changes to the two existing Netherlands
Antilles DXCC entities will be made, the ARRL Awards
Committee has determined that at 0400Z (12:00 AM local
time in the islands) on 10 October 2010, the two
Netherland Antilles DXCC entities will be deleted.>
Commencing at 0400Z (12:00 AM local time) on 10 October,
2010, operation from the islands of Curacao, Bonaire,
Sint Maarten, Saba, and St Eustatius will count for a
yet-to-be-determined number of new entities under the
DXCC List Criteria, and Political Entities, Rule 1
and/or Rule 2 Geographic Separation Entities. When the
Awards Committee determines what Rule 1 or Rule 2
actions apply, it will announce the final disposition of
the entities on the DXCC list.
The DXCC desk will not accept confirmations for these
new entities until after 1 January, 2011".
R1_ant - Mike, RW1AI is currently
active as R1ANP from Russian "Progress
Station (Antarctica). He plans to operate as R1ANP/A
from nearby Chinese “Zhongshan" Station in October and
November, using 100 watts and a vertical antenna.
3Y8XSA, ANTARCTICA. Lars, SM4TUV,
will be working for The Norwegian Polar Institute
in Antarctica starting November 2010. He will remain at
the
Norwegian Polar Research Station Troll, on Dronning Maud
Land, until December 2011. He is expected to be active

A multi-national team of 15-20 operators is being formed
to be active from Bonaire "in anticipation of the new
DXCC status on 10 October 2010. The first operation will
be run on 10-18 October by a group led by K8ND. They
will be followed closely by a team of nine operators
from the U.S. and Germany, including a M/M entry in the
CQWW SSB Contest. Expect activity on all bands and
modes. The station will be opened also to amateurs
participating in the GAREC conference (11-12 October),
as well as to any local Curacao amateurs who wish to
operate from Signal Point during the post 10-10-10 week.
10/10 – 2/11 CURACAO; PJ2/K8ND and
PJ2/W9VA SA-006
by K8ND and W9VA will be the first team to arrive at
Signal Point Station on Curacao just before the 10/10/10

The PJ2T callsign will be used
beginning at 0400z on October 10th, when the Netherlands
Antilles is dissolved and Curacao becomes an autonomous
country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands (and
likely a new DXCC Entity). Eventually, the team
